The Council on Cultural and Historic Preservation (CCHP) is established by §209 of the Historic Preservation (Amendment) Act. The Council has a role in awarding preservation projects, determining whether nominated properties should be designated culturally and or historically significant properties, reviewing and approving the national cultural and historic preservation plan. The Council meets quarterly.
